Aqua-Dec Overview
Aqua-Dec
is the ultimate solution in level access showering when
used in conjunction with Tilesafe.
Providing a cost effective solution for level showers
The innovation and design of the Aqua-Dec
is based around the difficulties faced by an installer who
would ordinarily install their own floors. The idea is to
reduce the manual labour and provide a cost effective, robust
and practical preformed shower base.
A quality product made with care
The Aqua-Dec is manufactured
using high quality glass reinforced plastic. The glass surrounds
the core and is then heavily press moulded to eliminate
the risk of delamination.
Put to the ultimate strength test
The Aqua-Dec is very strong
and can safely carry a weight of 256kg (40 stone). It is
so tough that it just rests on the joists and, because it
is so light, it can be installed by one person.
The Aqua-Dec suits both timber and
concrete floors...
Timber floor
At 22mm thick, the Aqua-Dec
is ideal for most timber and first floor set-ups. To fit
the dec the floorboards are removed. When the drainage and
pipe work have been installed the dec can then be permanently
fixed to the joists. The remaining floor must finish level
with the dec's edges in preparation for the covering of
your choice.
Concrete floor
On concrete floors the Aqua-Dec
can be let in to the concrete screed and, when the pipe
work has been completed, can be bedded down to sit level
with the existing floor. The flooring can then be laid over
the entire bathroom floor and over the newly installed dec.
Floating floor
The chipboard covering and insulation is removed. To prevent
chipboard movement support the edges of flooring with timber.
The supports also carry the Aqua-Dec
which is eventually fixed to it after the plumbing has been
completed. Then the standard flooring process can be completed.
